On January 21st, Clayton turned 22 months. His vocabulary has drastically expanded this month, and it is so fun hearing him say new words and phrases every day. He also will repeat almost every word or phrase we ask him to say, so it's getting difficult to keep a running list of his vocabulary! His most commonly said words include: eat, snack, oh my, and Nona. He said Nona for Nora Kate, and he says this ALL.THE.TIME. He loves his sister!
Clayton loves Dawson and Carter too. His favorite person to go grab their hand and lead them somewhere to play or do something for him, is Dawson. Dawson even asked me one day, "Why does Clayton only pull me places and not everyone else?" Clayton looks to Carter for silliness. He knows if Carter is playing with him, then it's going to be silly-so Clayton gets his giggle box turned over from the beginning of any game with Carter. I love the sweet relationships each sibling has with the other and how they're all so different. One thing is the same though, they all love our sweet Mr. Baby very much!
Clayton continues to be a happy boy-he's just at the stage where he can get in to everything! He seems like he gets into so much more than the other three did, but we think it's because he sees his siblings doing things and thinks he's just like them! Clayton can open so many things too that I'm constantly locking doors, etc. He can open the freezer (and then he brings me a piece of ice--always!), the dishwasher, doors-including the door to go out in the garage, and more. I've had to put a babyproof doorknob on the pantry because he was constantly getting food.
Clayton has always been and continues to be an awesome eater! He plays hard, eats good, and sleeps well. Clayton takes an afternoon nap each day from 1/1:15-3:30ish, and then sleeps each night from 7:30-7:30. He sleeps in his toddler bed with his special blanket that he loves. We have started talking about when to move him to a twin bed because he loves laying on Nora Kate's big girl bed.
Trains, trucks, blocks, books, running outside, pushing the toy lawn mower, swinging, picking up rocks and sticks, being tickled, being chased, giving kisses, singing The Wheels on the Bus and Patty Cake, and playing inside play tents are some of Clayton's very favorite things right now.
One of my very favorite memories from the 22 month stage is that when I pray with him at meals or at bedtime when we get to the end, he knows, and he says, "AMEN!" So sweet, and so cute!
I couldn't love our sweet Mr. Baby anymore even though he can be a wild one!
We love our precious Clayton and cannot believe that he's now only 2 months from being two.
yup, that's his "cheese" face!
This is the perfect example of just how rowdy his older siblings can make him.
Sweet 22 month old Mr. Baby.
