Slip-N-Slide Bash

Last year we had told Dawson and Carter they could have a joint birthday party for the first time ever, then all of our birthday parties got canceled due to Covid.  When we started talking about planning their birthday parties again this year, they wanted to have a combined party.  Still limited due to Covid restrictions at some venues we opted to go with a party in our backyard, and it turned out absolutely perfect!  We rented an inflatable 25 foot slip-n-slide.  Fortunately it ended up being a hot day, so the kids were all happy to be in the water.  We had several water balloon wars, pulled out the water balloon launcher, lots of water gun spraying, and of course LOTS AND LOTS of time on the slip and slide.  We filled up two kiddie pools with the assumption that the kids would use them to fill their water guns, but even these big kids had fun splashing around in the little pools! Haha!  A joint party for Dawson and Carter was perfect because several of their friends are siblings of each other, so it worked great.  We made sure that we made it have the feel of a big kid party.  We had the boys put together play list of songs and it felt like a great celebration of their birthdays and it also felt like a  kick off to summer since our last day of school was just a few days prior.  These pictures are in no particular order,  but I think they all capture the fun of the party!

We even pulled out the inflatable palm tree for decor.

This slip and slide was so cool!

The boys had cupcakes with candles in it to blow out, so they didn’t blow on everyone cake.
We were all dressed to get wet!

Water balloon time!

The kids were so funny...they all grabbed their plates of pizza and took them under the trampoline to eat....I guess it was the shadiest place!

So glad we got to celebrate your birthday with a big party this year, Dawson!!

Glad we got to celebrate Carter’s 9th with a party with friends this year!!
