Memorial Day Weekend and Carter's 7th Week

We had a fun Memorial Day Weekend and following week!  On Saturday morning Pop picked Dawson up and took him to his first Lowes Build It Workshop!  He had a blast!  They built a cute, little ice cream truck that Dawson is very proud of.  Construction and working with his Pop...this was right up Dawson's alley!  I was thrilled that they took a lot of sweet pictures, but unfortunately I am only able to post a couple of pictures from Lowes since the blog is not allowing me to rotate pictures from Pop's camera for some reason.  When Lolly and Pop brought Dawson home, he was so excited to show off his goggles, apron with a badge he got for completing the ice cream truck project, and, of course, this completed project!  We invited Lolly and Pop to stay over and enjoy some BBQ ribs John had prepared for lunch...they were great-good job, John!
On Saturday afternoon we took Dawson and Carter to a Tractor Show.  I would like to say it was Dawson and Carter's first Tractor Show, but if you know John and me, then you know it was EVERYONE'S first Tractor Show.  Dawson loved it and possibly knew more about all the tractors and other equipment than we did!  One man had a mower that pulled a few little "cars" behind it for kids to ride in, and Dawson loved this too!  We must have looked a little out of place, because one man asked us if we were "from around here" (mind you, this is our hometown).  We knew Dawson enjoyed it, but we didn't realize how much until the next morning at breakfast he asked if we were going to go to another tractor show that day too.  He did get a John Deere pin/button there that he has worn MANY times since!  We had a fun Memorial Day Weekend.
As for our busy week, Monday Dawson, Carter, and I loaded up the double stroller and went walking on the Greenbelt with some other Moms and their kids.  About two weeks ago I joined a Mom's group through meetup, and we have already had fun at several meetups!  I am so glad to have some more friends for Dawson here since he is constantly asking about going to play with his friends in Alabama, or BamaBama as he calls it.
On Wednesday morning we went to Tumble Bears Gym for another meetup.  Dawson had a blast playing on the two inflatables, trampolines, swinging on the rope, and walking on the balance beams.  Carter slept all but about 15 minutes that we were there.
Then on Friday, we got to go to a playdate with our friends the Gibsons and some of their friends.  Dawson always loves playing with Charlie, and he even got to do a little art (painting) during this playdate!
As for Carter, he has continued to be such a wonderful baby...or else we wouldn't have been able to do all these things!  He goes everyone with us so easily and rarely cries.  He loves being in the Moby wrap and his infant carrier too.  His 7th week, he started smiling EVEN MORE!  Dawson is always guaranteed to get a smile out of Carter no matter what.  These brother already love each other so much!  It's sweet!  Carter has also started laughing some, but it's not really what I would call a true laugh.  It's breathy, but it's so sweet!  He is eating about every 2 hours during the day, and at night he is eating every 2 or 3 hours.  There have been a couple of nights where he has gone one 4 hour stretch, which was AWESOME!  I ate some A1 sauce which I didn't realize contained dairy in the caramel coloring, and again this confirmed his allergy to dairy...but even through this he has still been a wonderful baby.  After a lot of research I have learned that a lot of parents find out about their infants allergy because their babies are so fussy, but this was not the case with our sweet Carter!  That wraps up Carter's 7th week!  Here are some pictures!

Happy Memorial Day!

along with his badge for making it!

All of the tractors were so close together
at the tractor show we had trouble getting
pictures of Dawson with them.  Luckily this John
Deere was sitting by itself so we got a picture.

Dawson rode this at the Tractor Show!

We've continued to enjoy
delicious veggies from our garden,
and we've been picking a few each day.
Apparently this zucchini was pretty well
hidden since I let it get this big before John
saw it.  The three of us could only each 3/4
of it with dinner one evening-it was that big!
To show what has been growing well this spring we
took this picture of Carter and our giant zucchini!
He was smiling and kicking his legs as usual!  He
is very "busy" with his legs and arms moving all
the time now!
