Nora Kate at 6 Months

On Valentine's Day Nora Kate turned 6 months.  I'm so sad that these six months have passed so quickly, so I'm trying to just enjoy every minute of her being a baby!  And she's such a good baby!!!  She's SO happy!  She "talks" all the time...and often very loudly!  She smiles and reaches for us.  She goes to bed at 8pm and between 8pm and 7:30am she gets up two times (much better than the boys at this age!), however she DOES NOT NAP!  There are days where she doesn't nap a minute between 7:30am and 8pm...I'm not sure how this is possible!  Most days she will sleep about 30 minutes total during the day.  This has been a hard adjustment for me since I am used to having a short break during the day to do a chore or two...or rest!  Thankfully though, she's happy despite her lack of sleep during the day.  I asked the doctor about this at her checkup and he assured me it was okay since she's growing and developing fine and that it's "just her."
Speaking of her checkup she weighed in at 19 pounds 13 ounces!!!!!  (For the sake of comparison, Dawson was 17 pounds 11 ounces at 6 months and Carter was 17 pounds 7 ounces at 6 months!)  She is in the 56% for height at 26 inches tall, and she's in the 95% for weight!  Dr. Booher said she's perfect and to enjoy all her little rolls and roundness.  She is perfectly healthy!
She does eat well, but no more than the boys did at this age.  She has now had an assortment of things:  rice cereal, oatmeal baby cereal, sweet potato, banana, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, butternut squash, peas, and today we started green beans!  She likes it all!!  She still nurses about every 3 hours during the day, and then just twice during the night.
She loves to watch her brothers and will just smile and laugh at them.  Nora Kate also really enjoys her exersaucer, and she has learned how to "jump" in it!  I think we will get the walker and johnny jumper out this month for her to try something new!  She likes being upright in the exersaucer and able to turn around on her own, so I'm certain she'll enjoy these other toys too!  Nora Kate still likes to swing too which is great because the boys were not content to swing by this age, BUT Nora Kate has A LOT more to watch from the swing than they did! :)  Nora Kate does not enjoy the Bumbo as much as the boys did, and has started arching her back a lot when she's in it and just generally not being happy.  So we have stopped using it very much, which is SO different from the boys...we took that thing everywhere for them!!
Nora Kate is usually always content to be held.  This is wonderful, especially for church.  She has yet to go to nursery because we just hold her during service and Sunday School and she's usually really happy!
Nora Kate's personality is really starting to show, and she is such a sweetheart!  She does this adorable thing where she will look at your until you look at her and smile, then she smiles back, and turns her head a little like she's acting shy!  So cute!  She definitely has the attention of everyone in this house! Carter asks to hold her or lay in her crib with her on a regular basis.  So sweet!
I could go on and on, but I'll stop here and get to her monthly pictures...

Nora Kate 6 months!
(Remember those adorable cards that I always prop up next to her for the pictures?!  Well, that's what she's holding!  She just couldn't leave it alone!  She's proud of herself for getting it!  Look at that smile!)

Nora Kate 6 months.
Trying to get the card!

Sweet smiley six month!

It is SO hard to get a picture of these three!
Someone is always being silly!  Here they were all being so silly!

More silliness caught on camera!
Nora Kate grabbed both brothers...Dawson wasn't too sure about her grabbing his sleeve, meanwhile Carter thought it was hilarious!

There we go!
Carter 22 months.
Nora Kate 6 months.
Dawson 4.5 years.
(John had to help get them all to look. So they're all looking at their Daddy standing behind me, but at least they're all looking the same direction!)
Love these precious kids!
