Dawson did an activity at school on pajama day where they got to make bead necklaces. After that, he couldn't stop talking about how he wanted to make bead bracelets at home. We found some glow in the dark beads with letters on them, and he has really enjoyed threading the little beads to make bracelets and key chains with people's names on them...he had fun and it ended up being education-letters, spelling, and fine motor skills!
At pajama day at school they made this cute pillow case!
At the beginning of February Dawson was invited to his friend Addison's 5th birthday party at a local bowling alley. He had never been bowling before, and he had a great time!!
Bowling balls are heavy!
He bowled with the lightest one (6lbs), but that's still heavy!

At the beginning of February she started really improving on sitting up on her own, but then when she got tired she just folded forward in half-like in this picture!
It has snowed SOOOO much this winter! We hear a big snow was coming on February 12. John was off work on the 11th, and we knew we needed to take the kids somewhere to get some energy out! We headed over to Pump it Up in Knoxville to enjoy the inflatables! It wasn't crowded at all (surprise!), so we all had fun on the inflatables.

Each time Carter got to the bottom he would ask to "do it two more times!"

John had to go to work in all the snow, but thankfully Nana came over to stay inside with Nora Kate and Carter so I could take Dawson out to play in the snow!

We used gold coins for the eyes, a carrot for the nose, & red fruit gummies for the mouth!
Thankfully the snow melted pretty quickly because we had friends coming in town from Alabama the following weekend!

Saturday morning we decided to check out the Discovery Center with our company. Before we could get very far in the door, the kids discovered this tub that blew these scarves up in the air and loved it! (This picture caught Dawson mid-jump, he was so excited!)

Saturday night we had a little Alabama Reunion!
It was so fun to visit with everyone, and the kids had a blast!

Sunday morning we had to get one more picture before our friends headed back to Alabama! We had such an awesome time while they were here, and we can't wait for them to come back and visit again!!!!!
Mid-February we had a nice Tuesday (John's off day) and decided after being cooped up from it snowing several times, we needed to get outside! So we headed to the zoo. Carter walked most of the zoo, and was thrilled to do so! Here are the boys checking out the prairie dogs.

EVERY time we go to the zoo, the boys climb on this lion (and I'm pretty sure I ALWAYS take a picture). This time John decided to hop on! :)

Dawson always loves helping me bake. February was a great time for baking because it was SO SO cold most of the month that we stayed in a lot!
The day of my graduation from UAH was about a week after I had the ultrasound to find out that Dawson was a boy. When my parents came to graduation they bought this onesie for Dawson. (It says UAH Chargers.) I actually have a picture in my cap and gown holding this onesie! Well now, Dawson, Carter, AND Nora Kate have ALL gotten to wear it!! Of course, we had to add some pink to it for Nora Kate!
In February, Dawson's preschool had Around the World Week. His classroom was Japan. They made these kimonos, and I thought he looked great!! They traveled to Africa, Peru, Egypt, and Germany (and I think one more that Dawson couldn't remember). He thought the Around the World week was SO cool though, and he told me a lot about all the countries they visited!!
We decided Nora Kate was big enough to get the Johnnie Jumper down. She LOVES it! This picture was taken the first time she got in it!
We also decided she was big enough for the walker. She loves this too!!
Unfortunately Carter and Nora Kate got a respiratory virus in February.
(Dawson stayed healthy!)
It's really unusual for the kids to just lay around, so I had to snap this picture above! This day in particular I think Carter felt really yucky so I convinced Dawson to sit on the couch with us and watch tv to try to keep everyone calm.
I take pictures of the kids every day, so for a while the pictures weren't too exciting with them being sick...
Nora Kate had to do breathing treatments.
At first Carter thought his breathing treatments were fun, and he called them "doin' smoke." It didn't take long before he thought of his breathing treatments as a form of torture though, and would beg to be "all done smoke!!!"
It was so, so weird for these two to be so relaxed...especially Carter. The calmer I kept them, the less the coughed. The easiest way to do this was books and tv. I think Carter sat in his bean bag and watched more tv in his life this month than ever before but it worked!
Nora Kate decided she wasn't a fan of the treatments after a while too, so we got this fish mask to make it a little easier. I think she still is making a sweet face here!
I asked Dawson what calm activity he would like to do while Carter was still on the mend, and Dawson remembered how I used to let him put pipe cleaners in my colander. (I was impressed he actually even said, "Remember it helps motor skills?") So we got everything out, and Carter really enjoyed this activity! (thanks, Dawson!)
Breathing treatments with the fish face were a fun change for Carter.
Thankfully, Dawson never got sick so I think we were able to contain the virus to the little ones! They are healthy and happy again now!

oh, wow, how in the world did you get NK to keep her fish mask on for breathing treatments? It was always such a struggle for our kids the first few times, and they NEVER had to do it that early! Poor babies, glad they are feeling better.
