Carter 23 Months

Carter is now 23 months!  He is the comedian of our family!  He loves to laugh and be silly, and he loves to make other people laugh...especially Dawson!  If it is something that will make Dawson laugh, Carter is willing to do it (yes, I am sure this will not be a good thing forever!).
Carter is a pickier eater than Dawson, and sometimes we still find this challenging.  We are working on it though!  It's not that he won't eat, it's just harder to convince him to eat everything than it was Dawson who was usually always willing to try things at least once.
This month Carter has been really into drawing. He calls it "mark mark" because when we first started doing it, he wanted markers (mark marks).  He LOVES to draw!  Lately I've been encouraging colored pencils over markers and crayons as it seems the easies to wash off of various things!  Carter is also happy with color wonders which I always suggest as there is zero mess!
He also loves playdoh!  He will sit at the table with me and Dawson and play with playdoh for over an hour easily!  Not many things can keep his attention for this long of a period of time!
Carter continues to amaze us with his vocabulary and how well he puts many, many words together to form sentences! He has also been doing exceptionally well with potty training.  I think if I buckle down over the next couple months, he could be in underwear all the time by summer!  He's even been waking up dry in the mornings!
At the beginning of his 23rd month Carter got sick for really the first time this winter.  This meant we had a lot of time at home while he recovered from the respiratory virus, and the kids got to watch more tv than usual (the less they Carter ran around, the less he coughed!).  Carter got into watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (he refers to it as Mick Mouse), and now he can point out Mickey Mouse everywhere we go!  He also watched a few episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba, and LOVES this too!  A while back in Old Navy Carter saw a little stuffed animal, fell in love with it, and started calling it "new lovey" on his own.  (He has a lovey which he HAS to have to sleep with.)  HE got to buy new lovey, so now at bedtime he asks for "lovey and new lovey."  Anyway, new lovey is, in fact, Brobee from the show Yo Gabba Gabba.  He was SO excited to see new lovey on the screen, and I think it's really the reason he likes the show (well, that and the bright colors and music).  Anyway, he now asks to watch "New Lovey" or "Mick Mouse" frequently!  So funny!
There is no one Carter loves to play with more than Dawson!  On Dawson's school days, it always takes Carter a bit to adjust and remember how to play with just me and Nora Kate without Dawson around.  Carter also LOVES his baby sister too though!  He's always kissing, hugging, or patting her!
I cannot believe that my baby boy will be TWO next month!

Our monthly sibling picture was sillier than ever this time around!

Love Carter's sweet happy smile and laugh!
