Nora Kate is SEVEN

We cannot believe that our one and only girl is SEVEN already!  She brings everything girly and pink and fancy to our family.  In her 7th year Nora Kate has proven to be sweet, considerate, thoughtful, competitive, yet still a very free spirit.  This girl loves all thinks pink and glittery, unicorns and mermaids, sun, sand, pool, beach, riding her bike, playing soccer, doing gymnastics, coloring and doing art work.  She is our little free spirit though. There are many things that don't phase her at all-Chaco's halfway off her heels-not a problem as she runs out the door to play with friends. Room a mess even after one of her daily chores of cleaning her room "what mess" (we are working on this one, hah). Nora Kate loves baking.  This is one of her very favorite things to do at home.  She's become pretty good in the kitchen-mixing, beating, zesting, etc.  Her reading has come along way this past year too, especially in the last 6 months and she is starting to enjoy reading on her own more and more (hence the birthday gift you'll see below). I've been proud of how outgoing Nora Kate has become.  She easily makes friends and is willing to talk to all kids at school, soccer, the boys' basketball games, church, the neighborhood, etc.  Nora Kate's favorite friends to play with this past year have been Tiffany from school, Annie from church, and Madalyn and Claira from our street.  Nora Kate hast always had the very best laugh that just bubbles out of her, and she still has that same contagious laugh.  We love our curly girl.  She also has such a happy smile that makes her eyes glisten when she's really happy. Nora Kate has special relationships with each of her brothers and of course John and I as well.

Sadly, we didn't get to have a big party this year to celebrate Nora Kate turning 7 thanks to the pandemic.  At this point after Clayton, Carter, and Dawson all having had their birthday parties canceled due to covid, it wasn't really a surprise for her.  We did have a special day though all about our girl!

We started the day with the kitchen decorated for her birthday.

Dawson and Carter had made this awesome 3d lego sign for Nora Kate's birthday.  She was impressed.

Birthday sign.
Birthday morning.
Opening gifts before breakfast!
Up close view of the Lego birthday sign with message and that's a Lego bday cake on the bottom.
She requested waffles for her birthday breakfast.

The big gift she got from John and I was her reading nook.
She loves it! Now she has a quiet, and relaxing place to read in her room
Nana and Grandad gave her this decor for her wall.
We were headed out to swim but NK wanted us to slow down, hang it on her wall immediately, and take a picture of her with it on the wall.
A quick read in the nook before the pool.
Even though we didn't get to have a party like normal, it kind of felt a little partish since our friends invited us over to swim for the day.  They had a bday gift waiting on Nora Kate when we arrived.
Nora Kate got "girl legos" as she calls them from Lolly.  She was SO excited! She really wanted to go swimming, but then could not wait to get home to start building this set all on her own!

We got cleaned up from our pool day and did a little birthday photo shoot.
This look.

It was an all day decision when Nora Kate had to decide where we would eat dinner for her birthday.  We were trying to find a restaurant that was open (thank covid) and where we could eat outdoors.  She was so torn on where to go.  She finally decided on Earth and Stone...then when we arrived who did we run into but her buddies Annie, Henry, and Ruby.  So it was like a party again!

Our birthday girl at the restaurant.
Birthday pizza

Then we headed home for some mermaid cake!

Seven whole candles?!

This sweet, spunky, feisty, fancy, fun-loving, laughter-filled, precious girl of ours is SEVEN!
