When John and I first looked at our house, we really liked the size of the master bedroom. We didn't love the curtains, lack of blinds, lack of overhead light, or the wallpaper border. BUT we knew we could fix all of these things!
Here are the befores....
The master bedroom has two closets. This is the smaller of the two. We decided this would be John's closet. It had a PURPLE florescent blub lighting it.
(Now this has been changed to a regular white light)

Our first step was removing the border. This wasn't too bad since the walls were primed under the border. The steamer took it right off. Next we painted the walls the same color we used in our dining room-Revere Pewter. This is a Benjamin Moore color that we had color matched to use in Behr paint. We painted the walls. Next up was painting the trim. We used the same trim paint in White Dove. Between the windows, baseboards, and three doors it seemed painting the trim in our room took a while!
We were happy with how it was coming together. Next we had blinds installed and took down the curtains. As I've mentioned in my previous posts about bedroom renovations, none of the bedrooms had overhead lights. We had a wire run for an overhead light and ceiling fan and had this installed.

Don't look too closely in this picture or you will see the beginnings of our master bathroom renovations which are still ongoing, BUT once those are complete our bathroom will look TOTALLY different (we are even knocking out a wall!)
The wall and bedding colors we selected for the master are all neutral. Initially I was worried it would be too neutral, but we are really happy with it! We have a few pops of color here and there, but overall the neutral colors make it feel very relaxing which is exactly what I wanted!
