April 2016

April was a fun month!  I have already shared a lot of our April pictures and events with Carter's birthday and the weekly updates on Clayton, but here are a few more activities that made up our April.
We had a few weeks between basketball season and when Dawson's baseball practices started.  Dawson is enjoying baseball again this year.  He is playing through Outward again this year and is on the Marlins.  His games started in April.

Dawson usually has a little crowd in his cheering section with Grandad, Pop, Lolly, John, Me, Carter, Nora Kate, and Clayton!

Running is his favorite part

Lolly has been bringing him gum to the games to chew like a baseball player.  Here he is chewing his gum!

Nana and Grandad gave Carter his picnic table for his birthday.  The kids have eaten every possible meal at it since he got it. (And I've enjoyed not constantly sweeping the kitchen floor since they're eating outside so much!)

Oh my, where do I begin?!  There are two skinks that live under our patio.  The boys were wanting to catch them.  One day John and I were sitting on the patio when one ran by, and John managed to catch it!?  They have since made it a habitat and actually learned a lot about skinks.  It is currently living in a tank in the playroom.  The kids love it.

One Saturday morning we headed to the zoo and had a great time!
Carter so excited watching the river otters he was jumping up and down.

The sand area at the zoo is always a hit.

Time for a camel ride.

After the zoo we went downtown to a festival they were having.  Then made a stop by the Mast General Store.  We decided we should take the kids to Fort Kid since they had never been...they had a great time.  We were so close to the Chocolate Factory that we walked over for a treat.

Then we spent a little time at the World's Fair Park.
It was a really fun day!

These two LOVE going to play golf with Daddy and Grandad!

Dawson was trying to make me laugh while I was feeding Clayton, so he came in dressed like this!  SO FUNNY!  Notice the left shoe is a klenex box! haha!

The library has this cool area set up right now that the kids love.  The board is magnetic and you can move the pipes to make different "mazes" (as Carter called them) to let balls roll through! Pretty cool!

Nora Kate LOVES having her nails and toenails painted.

This was such a fun a special day for the boys...they are still talking about it...
In April there was an Air Show!  We had discussed getting tickets to go, but then Pop through is work was able to get tickets to the airshow along with passes to sit in the tent area in front of the blue angels!  We decided that it would be too loud and too hot for Clayton and Nora Kate, so I stayed home with them while John went to the air show.  The boys had such a great time though!!

I cannot believe they sat this close to the blue angels! so neat!

Dawson and Pop.
Dawson had Pepsi for the first time at the air show (as evident in this picture), and he and Carter now refer to this as "the air show drink" when they see it in the grocery store...hah!

Inside a plane (I'm not sure which one!)

Carter had on double ear plugs!  It was LOUD!

SO NEAT!  They're still talking about it.  Carter has requested a Blue Angel Birthday party for next year (you know, only 11 months away...haha!).
I'm so glad that they were able to go!

Clayton's Newborn Photos

When Clayton was 1 week old we had newborn pictures taken at our house by the same photographer who took Carter and Nora Kate's newborn pictures and almost all of our family photos since Dawson was 1 year old.  She does a great job and is SOO patient!  She and I agreed that even though there were 4 kids involved this time...it seemed to be the easiest session with our family.  It went great, and I was thrilled with all the sweet pictures she took!  I have lots of favorites...so here they are...
In these pictures Clayton was 1 week old, Carter 3.5 years, Dawson 6.5 years, and Nora Kate 2.5 years old.

This was the very last picture of the day, and Clayton was starting to get hungry.  This was really the ONLY picture he cried in...I couldn't believe how well he did.

Clayton's 6th Week

Clayton's 6th week was another great one!  He is still such a wonderful baby...always happy and content!  At night he has been sleeping one 4 hour time span and then another 3 hours.  Getting up twice in the night is not a big deal at all, so I'm feeling really well rested which helps me enjoy our sweet little baby even more!  He's still a good eater in the day time too-eating about every 3 hours.
Clayton is smiling even more than last week, and it just melts everyone's hearts.  The kids get just as excited as we do when we get a sweet little smile from Clayton!  He has started making little baby "coo's" at us too when we are talking to him which he refuses to do when I'm videoing, so you'll have to take my word for it that it's pretty adorable!
Clayton continues to love bathtime.  He relaxes as soon as I put him in the tub and is all smiles and coos during bathtime, and as soon as I take him out of the water he fusses for a few seconds.  He enjoys it so much that I have started bathing him every day instead of every other.
He's ALWAYS happy in his carseat, stroller, or Ergo carrier that I wear...this makes it easier to go on walks and really on any outing with Clayton, so we have started to allow ourselves to get a little busier going out of the house for activities now that Clayton's a little older!  Carter and Nora Kate get excited everytime we take him somewhere saying, "Clayton's never been to ___ before!"  "It will be Clayton's first time at ___!"
Everyone is still loving their little brother.  Dawson asks to hold him within minutes of getting home from school each day-it's so sweet!  We have yet to see any jealousy from any other older siblings toward Clayton which is great!  Nora Kate refers to him as, "our baby" and really does love him so much!
In Clayton's 6th week he did a lot of fun things!  He went to his first baseball game to watch Dawson play!  He went to Dawson's school to have lunch with him.  (Dawson has been asking for me to bring Clayton to school since the week we came home from the hospital, and so we did!)  He went to the library for the first time, and to Dollywood for the first time!
At Dawson's baseball game.
