An Interview with 12 Year Old Dawson 

When Dawson turned 3 I started the tradition of doing a yearly "interview" with him.  It's fun to see how some answers change and others stay the same from year to year.  He's really growing up! Here are the same questions I ask every year and their responses from my big 12 year old!

1. What is your favorite color? Blue

2. What is your favorite toy? My Jet Cart, the trampoline, my tablet, the sandbox, and Legos

3. What is your favorite fruit?  peach

4. What is your favorite tv show?  Lego Masters 

5. What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch?  Grilled Cheese sandwiches 

6. What is your favorite outfit or things to wear?  Shorts and Short Sleeves

7. What is your favorite game? The Building Game on my tablet and Games on trampoline and Uno!

8. What is your favorite snack? Clif Bars

9. What is your favorite animal? Dog

10. What is your favorite song? Slugs and Bugs

 11. What is your favorite book? Distress Signal

12. Who is your best friend?  Bryant & Henry & Cooper 

13. What is your favorite cereal?  Fruit Loops

14. What is your favorite thing to do outside?  Jump on the trampoline, plan in the sand, play basketball, ride my bike, ride my Jet Cart.

15. What is your favorite drink? Sprite

16. What is your favorite holiday?  Christmas

17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? Pillow and blankets..Panda is in my closet now.

18. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Special Waffles with special things in them that Daddy makes. Or special pancakes.

19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? Caddy’s or Hops and Guac

20. What do you want to be when you grow up? A farmer.

at 11 years old: blue

2. What is your favorite toy? 

at 11 years old: Nintendo Switch and outside toys and LEGOs

at 10 years old:   playing outside and playing on my tablet and playing nerf guns and basketball

at 9 years old:  all of them

at 8 years old:  Legos

at 7 years old: Legos!

at 6 years old: Outside: my bike and inside: my workshop

at 5 years old:MY JOHN DEERE GATOR 
at 4 years old: My Gator, Mower, Trailer, Campfire (we had a fire in the firepit the previous night and he calls this campfire), and my horse hospital-a new birthday gift.  
at 3 years old: My trailer and my John Deere!!

at 11 years old: Quesadillas and Grilled Cheese

6. What is your favorite outfit or things to wear? 

at 11 years old: I like to wear clothes...hah! Shorts and short sleeves, and to school button downs.

at 10 years old:  My aquarium shirt (it's a big deal  to Dawson to get a shirt when we go somewhere.  When we went to the Chattanooga Aquarium over Spring Break the kids got shirts and all four have worn them A LOT!)

at 9 years old:  jeans and a nice shirt

at 8 years old:  my life is good shirt and jeans

at 7 years old: Golf Shirts and khaki or blue shorts

at 6 years old: My short sleeve button down and my pants with a belt and a hat and my workin’ shoes.

At 5 years old:SHORT SLEEVES AND SHORTS
at 4 years old: My Ninja Turtle Shirt from Target (we purchased this the day before), shorts NOT PANTS, I really like khaki and white shorts the best!
at 3 years old: Gym Shorts, boat shoes, bow ties (hopefully he doesn't want to wear these three together!)

7. What is your favorite game? 

at 11 years old: Animal Crossing for Switch and hide and seek in really big places

at 10 years old:  War or Uno

at 9 years old:  Switch

at 8 years old:  Uno

at 7 years old: Candy Land

at 6 years old:Head Banz and I Spy

at 11 years old: hermit crabs and fish because I want a fish for my birthday

at 10 years old:  I don't know.  Do I have to pick a favorite animal? I don't really have a favorite animal. If you made me pick an animal it would take me a long time to think, but probably I would say...…(lots of hesitation here then finally I got the answer:) sea animals

at 4 years old:Wait a second, Mommy, I'm trying to tell you something about working in the yard and you asked me another question!  -proceeds to tell me about how he needs to mow the grass, then answers the question:  Colt, Charlie, Carter, and some more like all the ones that were at my party

13. What is your favorite cereal? 

at 11 years old: Fruit Loops

at 9 years old:  Lucky Charms, but I'd rather have a pancake

14. What is your favorite thing to do outside? 

at 11 years old: Go fishing!

at 10 years old:  Fishing, going to Dollywood, going to the mountains, and playing on the playground, and playing soccer, playing tennis in our neighborhood court, riding my bike to the neighborhood playground, and riding my hoverboard

at 9 years old:  fish

at 8 years old:  fish

at 7 years old: Play on the playset or the Gator

at 6 years old: Pick up the yard and stuff and do outside chores

at 5 years old:RIDE MY GATOR, PLAY IN MY NEW PLAYHOUSE, AND WORK IN THE YARD, AND PLAY IN THE POOL 
at 4 years old:Swing and ride the John Deere Gator
at 3 years old: Ride mine John Deere and chase the birdies

15. What is your favorite drink? 

at 11 years old: Fruit Punch

at 10 years old:  Sprite

at 9 years old:  Sprite and that kind of special sprite we had at Christmas (cranberry sierra mist)

at 7 years old:juice, sprite, lemonade

at 6 years old: Lemonade

at 5 years old: CHRISTMAS! I LOVE ADVENT GIFTS!!!!! AND I LOVE CHRISTMAS TREES!

at 3 years old: I don't know!

17. What do you like to take to bed with you at night? 

at 11 years old: Panda

at 7 years old: Biscuits, and remember sometimes you make cinnamon rolls and strudels…I like those too!

at 6 years old: Biscuits

at 3 years old: Biscuit with the butter not melted (??)

19. What do you want for dinner on your birthday?  

at 11 years old: Can you remind me of restaurants because I haven’t been anywhere in so long because of the corona virus? Ummmm...Chick-fil-A. 

at 10 years old:  candy and sprite and chicken potpie and pizza

at 9 years old:  hamburger or a cheese burger

at 8 years old:  pizza

at 7 years old:Candy and Water (haha!)

at 6 years old: CANDY!!  And s’mores that you get from the fire not that you make inside…I like to burn them to make them taste better

at 5 years old:MEAT MUFFINS (this is what Carter and Dawson started calling the mini-meatloaves I've been making lately from turkey and oatmeal-I am so glad they like these because they're healthy-and easy!)
at 4 years old:Corn (?!)
at 3 years old: Mac and Cheese

20. What do you want to be when you grow up? 

at 11 years old: a farmer

at 10 years old:  A farmer, you already know that!

at 9 years old:  Farmer OR a fisherman

at 8 years old:  Farmer.  I’ll have more animals than plants

at 7 years old: A farmer and a strawberry picker

at 6 years old:  farmer I’ll have all kinds of things like tractors, dog, and stuff like all vegitables and apples.  And I hope my squirrels won’t eat my apples!  And a lot of cows, goats, chickens, and pigs!  And 2 cats and 3 dogs

at 5 years old:A FARMER!
at 4 years old: I'm going to be a farmer!
