Dawson has now entered his final year before becoming a teenager! I’m truly not sure how that it is possible that we have a 12 year old! Dawson is such an easy kid. He makes parenting so easy. Dawson is helpfully, flexible, kind, so responsible, caring, compassionate, smart, loving, and just a joy.
This year Dawson has enjoyed continuing to learn to play the trumpet. He has now been taking lessons for 18 months. This school year he was given the opportunity to play with the middle and high school band. He even got to play at graduation! Dawson enjoys playing which means he practices 1 or 2 times each day, on his own, without being reminded to practice.
Dawson also played basketball this year. He’s fast and has endurance so he does great on the court without getting winded easily. He played for the Lakers.
Dawson continues to enjoy running. Thanks to COVID most of the races were canceled but we did get to do one race (a 4 mile New Years Day Run) this year.
Dawson has also been very busy with Boy Scouts this year. He was in Cub Scouts until April when he bridged over into Boy Scouts. He likes to volunteer, hike, and do all the hands on things he gets the opportunity to do as a scout.
He still loves to fish any chance he gets. He got the chance to go deep sea fishing in June and again this month in Indian Rocks. This is in addition to numerous times of fishing in our neighborhood.
Dawson loves growing fruits and veggies in our garden. He still says he wants to be a farmer when he grows up.
Dawson loves getting to take care of Duke. He’s very responsible and always wants to take care of Duke-feeding, giving water, walking, etc. It’s great!
Dawson has done great in school this year too. His favorite subject was science because he likes the hands on activities. His least favorite was Social Studies. Dawson is also a fantastic reader and has read SO many chapter books this year!
Dawson continues to enjoy playing golf when given the opportunity. He even practices in the yard.
Dawson, we love you so very much. You are such a wonderful boy, and it brings us so much joy to watch you grow up into the compassionate, loving 12 year old that you are!
