Carter's 5th Birthday Party

Carter's 5th Birthday Party
For the past 11 months Carter has been planning his birthday party-haha!  For a while he thought he wanted a blue angel themed party (attending the air show last Spring was impactful), but for several months leading up to his birthday he was determined to have a soccer-themed birthday party.  I thought this was perfect since he LOVE playing soccer so much.
We decided that in order to have a soccer party, we needed to do the party somewhere other than our usual backyard birthday party location.  We reserved the pavilion at Pearson Springs and the soccer field right next to it.  This worked out perfectly!

Carter's party favors in these soccer bags.
Carter wanted to be involved in picking EVERYTHING out for his party-he really enjoyed getting to make these decisions.  For the goody bags, he chose to give each friend a pack of sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and bubble gum-all things my sweet birthday boy loves doing!

All about our sweet birthday boy!

Cannot believe this boy is FIVE!

Carter and his friend Charlie!
These two have been friends since before they were walking!

Clayton got lots of time with his Grandparents on the sidelines of the soccer field during the party.

Clayton thought this was hilarious...Lolly would roll the ball and Grandad would swing Clayton to make him kick the ball.

To start the soccer party we did stretches!
Then we did several soccer games such as soccer golf, throw in challenge, boot the ball, soccer kick relay race, and a soccer scrimmage.

Yup, it's party time!

Nora Kate loved getting to play with cousin Zoe during the party.

We are so thankful that not only do our kids have great friends, their friends have great parents to hang out with too.  We all have a lot of fun together!

Carter and Olivia have also been friends since before they could walk.

What hams!

Here was the beginning of the scrimmage...important discussion going on about team names.  One team ended up being named the Ball Stealers and the other team the Peppa Cookies...hahaha!

Scrimmage time

I have ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS made the kids birthday cakes, but Carter's special request for this party was "a cookie cake from the cookie company in the mall" so that's what we did.

We let Carter pick the rest of the menu items too.  He selected pretzels, chex mix, donuts (that's so Carter!), fruit, cookie cake, water, and juice barrels.  I actually was impressed that he came up with a good menu (despite being heavy on sugar), so we went with it!

Carter was excited that we found these soccer ball candles!

FIVE!? Really?! Our sweet brown eyed, big hearted boy is really FIVE!

Blowing out the candles.

Carter and Colt.

It was a little chilly, so despite there being lots of tables the kids all sat in the sun to eat...smart kids!

Photo opp for the Taylor kids at the party!

Parachute time!

This bird taking in the party festivities....until the kids scared it away.

Toward the end of the party the kids gravitated to the creek where they chased a duck and found fish!

Birthday boy!
