Dawson invited his friends Carson and Jordan. They had SO much fun together, and John and I enjoyed watching them play-and playing with them! We had absolutely perfect weather the entire time, so they were able to play outside a lot. They played Legos, football, hide and seek (grown ups verses kids), glow in the dark lawn darts, corn hole, basketball, and football. We went on a walk to "check the creeks" in the neighborhood, and we caught lightening bugs. The boys were excited to stay up later than they ever had before-I think we stayed up until 9:45 or 10! Haha!
Dawson's request for dinner was chicken tenders and fries and cookie cake! His cookie cake turned out super cute and yummy! After playing outside the boys had popcorn and watched a little Lego show before bedtime. Carter and Nora Kate spent the night with Nana and Grandad so the boys slept on the bunk beds and pull out mattress in Dawson's room. They must have been worn out because they got quiet quick!
The next morning I made pancakes for breakfast and then we picked up Carter and headed to the lake. Dawson's Great Aunt and Uncle Arlene and Wayne were so kind to let us bring the boys fishing off their dock...and Wayne even surprised them with a boat ride to get ice cream-seriously, best day ever for these boys. And they caught TONS of fish! They were catching fish as fast as we could get them off their hooks and thrown back in the water! The boys were SO, SO good about remembering to be safe, calm, and not run on the dock by the water and were so careful with their hooks too! Thankfully Pop came with us to help watch, hook, and bait. The boys all had a big time! It really was so fun and so perfectly Dawson!! We headed back home for lunch and then did the fish piniata. Dawson had requested a piniata and I was excited to find fish bags for them to put their candy from the piniata in.
The boys were so, so good the entire time. I really can't believe how easy it was and they all played so well together!
So, now on to the pictures....
Our big eight year old!
I don't understand it, but making silly faces in pictures must be an eight year old boy requirement.
Lego time
We always love using these giant chalkboards to decorate for parties.
Carter loved getting to go fishing with the big boys!
Here is his first fish of the day. He kept count, and he caught 14 fish during the party!
Dawson's first catch of the day.
Carson fishing
Jordan fishing
Dawson caught LOTS of fish!
Piniata Time!
Nora Kate was home by piniata time, so she was excited to get to participate in this part of the party!
Carter put the fish bag on his head that he was supposed to collect candy in-haha!
The piniata was pretty neat...the candy slowly came out of the fish's mouth as they hit it!

Oh my goodness!! Such a big kid and such a perfect, fun party!!
Thank you! It really was a fun party. It felt so laid back compared to the other parties like we have typically done. I'll be interested to see what Dawson requests next year, but I really enjoyed this too.
