Clayton at 19 Months

As of October 21st, Clayton is 19 months old!  His vocabulary has drastically increased this month to include many new words including the following: baby, crab, no no, blanket, candy, yo gabba gabba (a tv show), eat, snack, uh oh, bubbles, and many more.  We have laughed and laughed this month at him saying "night night" because he has started putting a very funny inflection on it where it almost sounds sarcastic or like he's mocking us.
Clayton is really good at his animal sounds.  He loves telling us what many, many animals say.  His favorites are cow, horse, dog, cat, snake, bear, dino, and bird.
Clayton is still a thumb sucker at this age, and I'm not quiet sure how we are ever going to break this habit-but for now, it's cute!  He's a pro at high fives and fist bumps and pretending to talk on play telephones.
BOOKS!  Clayton absolutely loves to sit on our laps and look at books.  He will bring me book after book after book to look at-especially when the big (rowdy) boys are at school and the house is calmer, he is less distracted and will look at books for a long time.
Clayton now has 12 teeth (and with all these teeth we are still having to occasionally remind him not to bite!  AHH he doesn't do it as much as he used to but when he does, he bites hard!) and puts these to good use with all the eating he does.  He's a good eater, always has been, and he will eat just about anything-meat, veggies, fruit, and of course other snacks too.  At Sunday School he has become a little snack thief-haha, a couple of weeks in a row as I picked him up the kids were having a goldfish cracker snack and I witnessed Clayton grab his goldfish and reach to take goldfish from a friend!  You would seriously think we didn't feed him.  Thankfully just in the past month or two Clayton has gotten happy at church.  I am so, so glad!  He occasionally will cry when we leave him, but it's brief now.  I think a lot of his happiness came from getting to move up to the bigger room now that he's over 18 months.  Clayton's used to being around kids more than babies and so he was excited to be in a bigger room with more toys and more toddlers!
At 19 months Clayton waves to everyone!  When we were at the beach this month we kept laughing at how social Clayton was.  The beach wasn't crowded at all, but any time there was another person nearby, Clayton had to walk over, wave, and say, "hi."  
CHALK!  Clayton loves all chalk.  If we are outside, he grabs sidewalk chalk and draws all over the driveway, patio, or sidewalk.   If he's in the big boys' room, he uses their chalk to draw on their chalkboard.
At the beach Clayton absolutely loved the sand and the ocean...he couldn't get enough.  I love having a beach baby.  He wasn't as fond of the pool, but I suspect by next summer when he can utilize his puddle jumper float, he will be much happier in the pool when he doesn't have to be held the whole time.
Clayton is finally getting better on the stairs, we still can't take the gates down-BUT he is learning to scoot down on his bottom or slide slowly down on his tummy, so hopefully in the next 6 months we may be able to take down the gate on the bottom of our stairs.
A few more random facts about our sweet Mr. Baby I want to remember from this stage:  He loves to dance as I sing "Wheels on the Bus."  He has learned to blow kisses-so cute!  He enjoys being pushed in his swing on our playset and pushing the big dump trucks around the yard.  This month Clayton has become a Daddy's boy and really wants to be with John, although he settles for me when John's at work-hah!
