Nora Kate's Royal 4th Birthday Celebration

We had a royal celebration for Nora Kate's 4th birthday party.  She had been telling us for months that she wanted a real princess to come to her birthday party, specifically Cinderella.  We decided to have the party at Pearson Springs Park Pavilion.  It's 5 minutes from our house and plenty of room for the kids to run around and play along with lots of picnic tables.  The forecast looked great until the day of the party, then it was showing afternoon thunderstorms right during the time of the party, so the biggest perk of the party venue ended up being the giant covered pavilion area where we stayed out dry out of the rain!  It worked out great despite the epic downpour.  Thankfully the rain started after the party began and ended well before the end of the party, so we did get some play time outside of the pavilion too.
Nora Kate wanted everything pink and fancy-her specific requests for the party.

Fancy Four and Fabulous

Any time I take her picture she poses like this, hand on hip, on her own without anyone telling her to.  So funny.

Another specific request for the party was face painting.  We ordered some face paint and hired our wonderful neighbor Emily to be our face painter.  She did an amazing job!

Nora Kate in front of the favor bags.  The girl favor bags contained candy, necklaces, jewelry, tiaras, and rings.  The boy favor bags contained inflatable swords, Kings crowns, and candy.   I loved being able to make the labels for the favor bags and her shirt on my vinyl machine!  She wanted her birthday shirt to have a glittery Cinderella on it-Done!

Nora Kate with her friend Lucy.

As it was pouring down rain, Clayton thought it was hilarious to lean out and put his hand in the rain.  Lots of laughs.

Girls are SO different than boys...Nora Kate and several of her girl friends sat and happily and calmly played with little toys on this parachute for a long time during the party.  I don't think there has ever been this much calm time at any of the boy birthday parties! Hah

Then Cinderella arrived!  Nora Kate LOVED her special guest!

Check out that amazing face painting Carter got!

Nora Kate looks super serious in every picture with Cinderella, but it was because she was taking in every minute of it.  She was very serious about this being the real Cinderella and listened intently to every single word Cinderella said.

The boys and Cinderella (Clayton wouldn't stand still long enough!).

Nora Kate and Elise with Cinderella.

Nora Kate had a coronation ceremony led by Cinderella and this picture shows her being crowned a real princess.

Here she is receiving the magic fairy princess dust...Nora Kate was so sweet to choose to share it with all her friends.

Cinderella read the kids a princess book.

Then Nora Kate received a special wand from Cinderella.

Nora Kate wanted her cake to look like a princess dress and be pink, so this is what I came up with.

We had chips, fruit, goldfish, cookies, and cupcakes, and juice and water.

How is our girl FOUR already?!

Lolly with Cinderella.

Everyone wanted to eat at Cinderella's table.

Enjoying a little outside play time after the rain stopped!

oAfter the party we came home, let the kids take baths, then opened gifts.  Nora Kate was SO excited to put on her new gift from Lolly and Pop-a fancy Princess Elena of Avalon nightgown.

And here's her invitation.

Nora Kate had a wonderful party.  She had so many wonderful friends attend (Harper, Elise, Lucy, Lane, Ava, Kyle, Zoe, Dawson, Carter, Clayton, Wyatt, Carson, Lolly, Pop, Emily, Eric, Grandad, Nana, and of course-Cinderella!  We were thrilled that so many people helped celebrate our sweet girl turning FOUR!
